Henrisoul’s Biography

From living in uncompleted buildings to selling at the computer village and hustling print jobs at Shomulu to being the first African Gospel Artiste to air his celebrated video on BET (Black Entertainment Television). His story is not just your conventional grass to grace script. Through the rough but deeply spiritual childhood, Ifeanyi Henry Orji, popularly known as HENRISOUL has been able to beat the odds stacked against him so far.


This very talented multi-genre award winning artist managed to secure a few studio sessions earlier in his career with funds from his hard work on the streets of Lagos to put together a demo CD which by divine orchestration caught the attention of Kennis Music Boss: Kenny Ogungbe who gave him his first media exposure on RayPower FM at the time.
Fast forward to 2012, the results of his consistency also caught the attention of ‘Heaven Heights Quarters Management’ (HHQ) who without hesitation signed him up. His Clarence Peters directed video (Blow my Mind) landed him on BET’s 106&Park countdown in 2013 and stayed strong for over 5 weeks on Soundcity Top 10 Charts.

HENRISOUL has so far been nominated for and won various awards; 2012 Nigerian Gospel Music Award Best Revelation winner, 2013 Cristal Awards- Best New Artiste nominee, and winner Best Afrobeat Artiste of the Year at The YCT Entertainment Awards. He is also a 2013 Best International Gospel Artist Nominee at the BEFFTA AWARDS UK and his video ‘Blow my Mind’ has recently been nominated for the best gospel video at the prestigious Nigerian Music Video Awards 2013.
He has worked with other spectacular artistes such as KENNY KORE, BOUQUI, GAISE, ANNIE, SAMMY OKPOSO, JAYWON, SAMKLEF, PROVABS, LAMBOGHINNY, NUTTY JOSH, FREEBORN among others.
At a time when too many young artistes are conforming to mediocrity, HENRISOUL has refused to compromise his message or be boxed into genres.
He has three (3) official singles out including the very well accepted highlife tune called ‘Your Love’ and is currently recording his debut album scheduled to be released in 2014. He someday desires to work with the likes of Tuface, MaliMusic, Kirk Franklin and Lecrae Moore.

With his discipline and professional work ethics, HENRISOUL will definitely be around the music scene for decades.
