Prince Caris

Caris is the prince of Kukuland. He was a graduate of Mechanical Engineering but he graduated with a very low grade. His early lifestyle made everyone believe that nothing good can come out of him. He had two elder brothers who were so successful in their career.

The queen and Omma (Caris childhood female friend) had a different opinion about Caris. They were the source of hope for Caris because others both the king and the rest of Kukuland never believed in him especially when he came back after his studies.

When Caris came back after graduation, he noticed changes on how the king (his father) ran Kukuland and out of the love he had for the people of Kukuland he vowed to defend them and resist his father’s forces. This made the king and his cabinet who benefits from him to hate Caris the more. Not minding them Caris went forth and reached out to the people of Kukuland, they were happy and started to love and believe in him.

Ziss and Welse (Caris elder brothers) were corrupted as their father. They molested and sleep around with the maidens of Kukuland and dealt with anyone who confronts them. They disregard and never honour the queen. They cooperated with the king to extort the people of Kukuland using the corrupted members of king’s cabinet as middle men.

Omma is a daughter to a poor farmer who died when his only land he used for farming was taken away by the king, he was killed in the process by king’s task men. This happened when Caris was away and had no knowledge of it. When Omma narrated the incident to him, Caris apologized to her mother and vowed to recover their land.

The people of Kukuland thought the queen was in support of the king, but the opposite is the case. Caris fought so much that her respect as the mother and the queen was restored.

When the king saw that Caris had become a problem for him, he asked Caris to leave Kukuland until he proves to him that he bore the royal blood picking on him that he failed as a student. The king didn’t know that the reason for Caris low grade was because he resisted corrupt lecturers in school. The king thought Caris couldn’t survive without his help. To prove his father wrong Caris agreed to leave Kukuland.

Before Caris left, his mother prayed for him and promised to always pray for his safety. Omma and the whole kingdom were sad and afraid of what would happen to them in his absence. He consoled Omma and promised her he will come back for her and the rest of the people. In his absence the situation of the people of Kukuland became severe but they endured as there is no help for them.

As Caris got to the city of Dabba, he was robbed of his belongings and was left with only his outfit, it was in the even time. As the day darkens he had nowhere to go as the robbers took away his money. He found a closed mechanic, sneaked in and slept till dawn. In the morning, he was woken up by the owner of the mechanic workshop (Engr. Frank). He found favour in the eyes of this man who later gave him job and brought him in to stay with him after he narrated his life ordeal to him.

Frank was married to Lizzy and they don’t yet have a child for it’s not been so long they were married. Frank was impressed by Caris’s intelligence and braveness that soon he made him in charge of engine repair department. His co-workers would come to him to help them out in some difficult issues.

Soon Lizzy started to have an eye on Caris. When he noticed what was going on in her heart, he approached her with respect and wisdom reminding her that she is his boss’s wife. His approach towads the issue made Lizzy come back to her senses and trusted him the more. Several times Caris co-workers would frame him up because they envied him. Lizzy would stand for him and stop Frank from dismissing him. Frank would investigate the matter and found him to be innocent.

Back at Kukuland, Ziss and Welse wicked ways worsened that the king became afraid of whom they turned out to be. He can’t stop them because it was too late and he knew he was gradually reaping the fruit of his wickedness.

One day as the king was travelling for a conference, his car broke down at Dabba. Several engineers were called but none of them could fix it. His driver was directed to Engr. Frank’s workshop. He told Frank how severe the case was and requested he come himself but Frank insisted he should go with Caris. So Frank called Caris and sent him to go with the driver. The driver was new to the palace, so he knew not Caris and the same was Caris’s case. When Caris sighted his father the king, he was happy but when the king saw Caris he was confused and surprised. He couldn’t believe Caris was the expert he was waiting for since. The king broke down in tears and apologized to Caris. He told him how things had deteriorated in Kukuland. When Caris was done fixing the car, the king pleaded on him to at least visit them once.

When the king arrived at Kukuland from the conference, he was a changed man. His new attitude still baffles his wife the queen and his sons. He tried all he could to right his wrongs in Kukuland but his efforts was aborted by his two evil sons (Ziss and Welse). So he patiently anticipated the home coming of Caris, he also kept Caris a secret from everyone.

Caris later started his own car repair workshop, employed staffs and was doing incredibly well. He also received several awards of excellence as an outstanding engineer.

When Caris arrived Kukuland everyone was happy and overwhelmed except his two elder brothers and the corrupted cabinet men. He quickly married Omma and took her to Dabba, from there he reached out to his father, mother and the people of Kukuland. He went forth and confronted his brothers this time with higher forces, restored Omma father’s land, subdued them and brought Kukuland back to a peaceful state.

Having lost to Caris, Ziss and Welse went on to plan with the corrupted cabinet men to stop Caris or any alternative means to put him out of their way. As the king was traveling out for another conference, he was shot by unknown gunmen. Somehow he survived the attack after undergoing a surgery. Caris knew it was his brothers, so he framed his father’s death. Ziss and Welse were so desperate that they started preparing their father’s burial and coronation of the Ziss as the next king without seeing his corps and confirming his death. Meanwhile their father was recovering faster than normal.

After all preparations, Ziss and Welse ordered Caris to send home the king’s body though it wasn’t the proper way to burial a King in Kukuland. They didn’t know Caris had involved the police and investigation had been on since the king was attacked. The police were able to arrest the gunmen who confessed who contracted them.

On that faithful day, instead of the king’s body they saw a convoy of policemen and there was confusion everywhere. Immediately the king stepped down, everyone ran away. They latter gathered and listened to the king as he narrated what happened. The gunmen identified the princes, Ziss and Welse and there were taken away alongside the corrupted cabinet men by the police.

So what was meant to be a burial became a celebration. Caris was crowned the heir to the throne while sanctity and peace was restored in Kukuland.
