Ben was a cop who believed in doing the right thing even as he found himself living in a country where crime dwells, his own country. He lost his parents at a tender age in a gun battle between two cult groups in their neighbourhood back then. After the death of his parents, his uncle (Prof. Alex) trained him until he became an adult. He studied political science but decided to join the police after his studies. He was intelligent that he always handle high profile case. Ben had two friends, Jim and Clara who are his colleague and also intelligent (Birds of a feather). They work together and shared the same view point in every case they handled. They were focused in getting results and were awarded for their great effort in policing.
One day Ben was assigned a special case but this time around not with his friends. He was asked to investigate a renowned rich man who deals on oil and gas products. This rich man (Chief Magnus popularly known as Chief) and his cohorts are very rich and high profiled. They use their money for charity and have severally donated arms and vehicle to the police force to combat crime in the city of Lasa. But Ben’s boss (Mr. Ziba) suspected these men’s avenue of wealth and therefore asked Ben to investigate Magnus.
To get close to Magnus, Ziba assigned Ben a special body guard to him. All his time as Magnus’s bodyguard he reports back to Ziba but yet can’t lay hands on what his mission was all about because he can’t see anything wrong about Magnus or his wealth.
On a Monday morning about 10am Magnus received an important call and asked Ben to run an errand for him as he goes out to his office to answer to the call as usual. This time around Ben sensed something was unusual about the call and decided to follow him from behind. Instead of his normal route to his office Ben observed chief Magnus was heading to an unknown location. Ben managed to sneak into the building only to find young men in the premises. In his further check he found out that the building has a warehouse underground. He couldn’t go further but resolved to come back at night to run a proper check on the building. At night, he sneaked in and managed to get pass the security into the warehouse. In the warehouse, he saw boxes of samples, and then he took one sample to analyze. In getting out of the building, the security noticed there was an intruder but couldn’t catch a glimpse on the intruder. Immediately they reported to Chief about the situation. The next morning Ben didn’t report to Chief Magnus’s house but called that he is going to be a bit late because he is stuck in traffic on his way coming. Ben actually went to check what the sample was all about. In the laboratory of the police department, another cop spotted the sample and knew where it came from, called Chief and reported what he saw. Chief Magnus then knew that the intruder was Ben. He picked his phone and called Ben offering to pay him to shut up. He also threatened Ben that he has no other choice than to do what he said because several rich men are involved and that no one will believe his story. Ben refused his offer and swore to get to the root of the case.
As he left the laboratory after confirming the content of the sample to be an illegal drug and to report to his boss, he was kidnapped and was taken to an unknown location in a thick forest. Magnus met with his cohorts on how to clear the mess. So they decided to blackmail Ben that he stole some valuable document of Magnus and disappeared.
Mr. Ziba was alerted of the situation and the accusation, so he quickly summoned Jim and Clara to let them know what actually happened. His friends were so confused because they have no clue, so Ziba asked them to investigate the situation from afar.
Where Ben was kept he was tied on both limbs but wasn’t blindfolded. The kidnappers were ordered by the rich men to kill Ben. But before they got to where he was, he had escaped. They searched the premises and couldn’t find him, and because it was a thick forest they concluded he can’t survive. So they called chief Magnus and declared Ben died and buried. Prof. Alex was worried but because he couldn’t do anything, he left all in God’s hand knowing his nephew was innocent of the accusation against him.
As Ben ran farther into the thick forest, he ran out of strength and fainted. Luckily for him he was found by a middle aged farmer (Akum) who took him and took care of him until he woke up. After his recovery he tried to contact his colleagues or boss but couldn’t because there was no means, they kidnappers had taken his mobile phone and he had no phone number off hand. He knew finding his way back to the city was not an option because his kidnappers had told him about the accusation against him and that he is being wanted by the police. So he lived with Akum helping him with farm-work and hoping one day help would come to him.
As he lived in this remote village called Uzu, one day he went to sell some of the farm produce at Uzu central market. There he saw a pretty lady (Sheila) who knew him. Sheila is a journalist in Lasa where Ben was a cop. When Sheila interrogated him, he tried to hide his identity claiming he is just a villager who farm to make ends meet. The argument became intense that he knew the lady knew him so well. He opened up when Sheila threatened to turn him in. Sheila took him to her father’s house where he narrated his story to her. After listening to him she was convinced he was innocent and promised to get him in contact with his friends and boss. He gave her his address while Sheila gave him one of her cell phones.
When Sheila got to his office she met with Ziba and narrated everything to him. Ziba was delighted but warned her not to tell anyone even Jim and Clara. When Sheila called Ben to tell him what Ziba said, Ben was surprise and knew something was not in place. He warned Sheila to stay away from Ziba and to go and meet Jim and Clara in the secret. This information was an eye opener for Jim and Clara who resolved to investigate Ziba secretly on the matter.
As they investigated the matter, they found out that Ziba had taken the money offered to Ben to help these men clear their mess and to keep an eye on Ben incase he resurface in the future. Quickly they reported back to Ben on their findings. The trio of Jim, Clara, and Sheila helped Ben out of Uzu when they knew his life was in danger again. Jim and Clara hid Sheila from Ziba or any other person who knew she have concrete information about Ben’s where-about. Jim and Clara also brought Prof. Alex to meet with him and advised him to keep it a secret.
As Sheila was with Ben, Jim and Clara were planning to expose Ziba, Magnus and his cohorts. One day they observed Ziba enter the same building (where they kept those samples) in company of Magnus and his cohorts. Jim and Clara involved higher power and stormed the building. These men had no cover as they were caught with those samples containing the illegal drug. They were arrested and jailed.
Ben was declared innocent, and the trio (Ben, Jim and Clara) were awarded for the breakthrough. Later Ben married Sheila while Jim was joined with Clara in holy matrimony after that of Ben and Sheila.
