Zamar's choice

Zamar had distanced herself from her friends when she learnt that their long childhood dream had been thwarted by their desire to live a high standard life. Jenna (Zamar’s friend) was happy when Zamar told her of her decision and also decided to stand by her irrespective of what the other girls thought of them.

Before they broke their friendship, Zamar, Jennar, Blessa, Jugonna and Melisa were friends from childhood. They were loved by many because of their exceptional character and smartness. Most women believed that they would turn out to be the future mothers of their town and also preserve their values and heritage. They attended the same school and were in the same class. They would also compete for positions which helped to strengthen their intellectual ability. They had dreams to become professionals and help their families out of poverty. This dream they nurtured for years diligently.

Leenar on the other is a naughty girl spoilt by her parent’s carefree and nonchalant attitude. When Leenar became too hard for them to handle, they decided to send her to her grandmother in order to punish her.

Leenar soon became the talk of the town because of the way she presented herself, her eloquence and carriage. Soon some of these girls began to admire her and started to flood her in their discussions. Also, every guy in school admired her and wanted to have her to himself but she turned them down. With time Leenar had crowned herself a god to be worshipped by her school mates. If not that their male teachers were old, they would have followed suit. When Zamar complained and confronted her friends on their attitude towards Leenar, they termed her a hater. Soon their friendship started tearing apart, only Jenna stood by her who happened to share the same thought with her.

Their separation was made public when the trio of Blessa, Jugonna and Melisa openly confronted and disgraced Zamar and Jenna for no just cause only because Leenar had requested them to do that as a one of prerequisite for them to be her friend and for them to make her league.

Music Album: Frankincense by Frank Edwards

Frank Edward's Biography:

Within the last of the tomb

Within the last of the tomb Are fresh and quick sand The hairs rough and needed comb Whom the owners sought for a land When bitterness taste like it is from honeycomb Men stood and roll their last band Not of victory but cry of a lost womb Of a child who was at hand Those left behind blasted by a bomb Their remains soon would turn manure sold for few rand Within the last of the tomb Are bodies which testify failure of a magic wand. The Big City

I stood on the bridge And beheld the great city The weather so cold like in a fridge Everyman on his duty Some houses in a ridge I sighed and said what a pity! The land of slavery Held men hostage for years Story was told of his bravery He stood and everything he dares But he was caught up in great injury  By those who burden he bares The great city of vain Where all at last becomes vanity Where men for joy get pain Hands washed in blood in sanity All they seek is their gain To acquire riches and vitality Yet our sight is blinded Our strength weakened In wisdom we are fooled In our kingdom we are doomed We still perceive all is well Until we receive our wage and fell By J_amaze
