Black Smith and the Money Digits 2

Pa Greg owned one of the leading grocery stores in the 1950s. His competitors could not compete with him because they were far behind him.

Time came and past, he started having issues with the financial department of his stores. His accountants had to quit because he refused to upgrade to the use of computers instead of record books and other old methods in handling his accounts. Pa Greg insisted that his method he used in running his stores is a legacy he would like to keep until he is no more. They left him to his competitors.

Pa Greg competitors would come and mock him advising him to retire that his time had gone. Finally, he decided to quit after he was left with only one store.

Meanwhile Black had left home to a far country thinking of how to invest the money he earned from Fuse Tech. One day Black went to get some beverage, it happened he went to Greg grocery stores owned by Pa Greg. As Black was making his choice, he wondered why there were so many shelves but few goods. He managed to choose from the available ones. When he got to the counter to pay, he was surprise to see the old man crying. Black could not stand his sight, he went forth to inquire what went wrong.

Pa Greg tried to cover up but Black insisted. Pa Greg started by telling him that the same day marks the end of Greg grocery stores. He further narrated the rest of his story starting from when he started running the stores. Black was touched by emotions as he listened to him.

When Pa Greg was done telling the story, he became confused as Black altered no word but went back to take a second look at the store. Black did that in order to take quick stock of all the goods in the store. He came back and told Pa Greg that Greg grocery stores will not close down but would strive above its competitors. Pa Greg thought he spoke out of pity and emotions. He realized how serious Black was when he ordered him to open the store the next day and pleaded for his trust. Then Black paid for what he bought and left. From there Black paid a visit to Pa Greg competitors and made some certain analysis.

The next day, 3 hours after Pa Greg opened his store and yet wondered what was going to happen, a truck full loaded with goods came and was offloaded. Pa Greg came out to know what was going on when Black offered to be his partner and son because Pa Greg had lost his family in a ghastly car accident. Having no choice, Pa Greg nodded in affirmation. In 2 hours time Greg grocery stores came back to shape. Black promised him that he will still adopt his olden book records method.

In 3 weeks time, Black had implemented his magic. Greg grocery stores had grown to the extent of getting extra shops but still retained its old fashioned looks.

Pa Greg competitors that had mocked him could not hide their shock but shamelessly went to inquire from him how it came by, he pointed at Black and told them, “he is my miracle.”
